The project was procured using the conventional construction management form of contract, with amendments to encourage cost-saving initiatives and represents a good example and model for true construction management techniques being applied to relatively small projects.
Projec-Technique Ltd
The Old Mill, Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset
During 2003 and after two years of trading, the directors purchased their offices in Okeford Fitzpaine, a 300 year old grade 2 listed mill in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The building was a derelict, agricultural building, in partial collapse, and had no consent for conversion or change of use.
Following lengthy consultation with the District Council and the RDA, listed building consent was finally obtained to convert the building in to a suite of offices, which culminated in an award for ‘Building Restoration Project of the Year’.
